Build Better credit

Aqua is a credit card brand for the near-prime audience, customers whose credit score is too low to usually secure credit from a bank or major lender. With heavy competition, Aqua needed a standout position in the marketplace and bold creative to meet their ambitious acquisition targets.

How I Made It Happen

All the competition was talking about not harming credit scores, but none were talking about helping the customer to improve them. 

My idea was to give the Aqua brand a purpose – to help their customers build better credit using tools and services the brand was already implementing, but not marketing effectively.

To turn this big idea into powerful brand response, I developed the hero brand asset – the Aqua card character. My creative focused on using this character to bring to life the ‘Build Better Credit’ proposition and market Aqua as the leading helper credit card brand.
